The Big Fish is a ten metre sculpture of a salmon by John Kindness at Donegal Quay, Belfast. It has been there from 1999 and is probably the most photographed object in the city. The Fish is covered in ceramic tiles with images and text depicting events in the history of Belfast.
I’m often in the area and there’s always someone there taking photographs, climbing on it or just sitting at it.
I’ve taken countless photographs over the years trying different angles – low down, high up, from the front, rear, every way I could think of but this is the first time I’ve tried a black and white image.
